Introducing....

Our little Angel

Ty and I are so excited to be parents. We do know the gender of the baby but we can't release that info until Christmas morning when we tell our families :) Any guesses in the mean time?

Halloween

I hope everyone had a great Halloween weekend!! Ty and I started off the weekend with a Bunko Date night that some friends in the ward put together. It was a blast! There were about 13 other couples that came so we were able to meet a lot of people we hadn't met yet. Ty and I also ended up winning the couples award for earning the most points for different things throughout the night which meant we went home with a Haunted Gingerbread House kit.... Ty was pretty excited! LOL.
Halloween night we had some friends come down from Independence with their three kids and we were able to go Trick-or-Treating. It really made our Halloween! It was so fun seeing them so excited in their little costumes! They couldn't wait to knock on those doors!
We hope everyone was able to have a fun Halloween and is as excited as we are for the Holiday season coming up. The next two months for us are going to be crazy... every other week from here until Christmas we will be out of town or the country. With that said, I will try very hard to get on here before the new year but I can't make any promises! Happy Holidays!

Summer Travels

I can't believe summer is almost over. Ty and I were walking through Walmart today and it was filled with back to school stuff! UNBELIEVABLE! With that said, we have some serious vacationing to catch up on! Since Ty has almost a three week break in between trimesters we've decided to take a trip out to provo. On the way we plan to stop and visit some good friends in Denver and my brother in Cedar City. We may even stop in Vegas and pick up some of my fam. We are SO excited for this break I can't even explain. It is much needed!

In other news.. Ty is studying like crazy for all of his prefinal- finals (which consists of so many exams, there isn't possibly time to study for his finals) but he is taking them like a champ. The lowest score he's gotten so far has been an 80% and the highest 100%. I've been so proud of him!! He still has two more weeks, but so far so good!

We also just started moving into our new place. Although we are extremely excited to only be 7mins away from school (instead of 45) it's been hard finding time to actually move. We've decided to start taking a couple things down everyday so it'll be interesting to see how long it actually takes us!! My sisters are coming out for a couple weeks and I think I'm gonna have to put them to work!

We have a very busy August but I think it's finally gonna feel like summer! If anyone will be in Utah, Denver, Vegas, or even Idaho between August 21st-30th let us know!

The Only Thing I Could Have Asked For..

Was to have my family out here on my birthday. After a 3:30am wake up Friday morning and a 8hr round trip drive to the St. Louise Temple, I came home to the best and sweetest surprise my husband has ever given me.. my mom and dad waiting for me in my living room... on my couch... in my house!!! I had NO idea they were coming and still have NO idea how he pulled it off, but I knew it couldn't get better then that. But all of you who know Ty know he didn't just stop there.....
Later that night, he suggested that we go to one of our favorite restaurants out here so my parents could check it out. Well, we arrive and the host asks "Are you Ty? We reserved the whole patio for you." (which wasn't weird to me because we know the owner and he always takes care of us) So we walked out onto the patio and before I had time to digest why the patio was totally filled when they just said they reserved it for us, I hear a chorus of HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Yeah... it's a good thing I have a nice, strong heart. The whole patio was filled with all our friends out here! And to top it all off, I finally got a wii fit!! We've been searching for it since my last birthday (not very hard, but still!) and a couple weeks ago they just decided to put a whole bunch out. YAY!!Needless to say, on Saturday (my real birthday) we played the wii fit for hours. It was a blast watching my parents! They're so much fun!
Although we originally planned to have a day of volleyball and grilling in the park that day, we were instead able to just relax. We went to breakfast/lunch at this new place we've been hearing great things about, then went to a movie, then Liberty jail and a couple of other church sites, then to the farmers market to pick up some fruits and veggies, then had a little bbq on our porch and played some more wii fit. It was the best birthday ever!
Thanks so much mom and dad for giving me such an awesome birthday present... YOU! And thank you Ty for all your sneaky planning and for being the coolest husband EVER!!

The New Do

I cut bangs and highlighted my hair almost a month ago now.. it's almost time to cut again! Ty's been wanting me to post this for a while but lets be honest.. I'm not the best blogger. Anyway, here's the new do....

More Pics...

We got to spend some time at the DC temple and it was AMAZING! I really love this temple. We were able to meet up with my good friend Danielle and Ty's FBI friend Rich. It was so much fun getting to hang out with them for the day!

We went up to Ty's mission on Cinco de Mayo and they had a really fun festivities!

My dad shredded the ligaments in his arm playing basketball and had to have surgery, so he wasn't able to participate in bowling, but he was a very good sport and cheered us on from the side lines :)

Vacationing...

One really awesome benefit of working at the school my husband attends is that we get time off at the same time. This allows us to do what we love most... TRAVEL!! Tyrone was able to go to Florida for a week and then we both went to PA for 10 days to see my family. It was such a blast! We were able to go to the DC temple and get some of Ty's family names done and meet up with some good friends. We were also able to go see my amazing Grandmother in New York and visit Ty's mission in Harrisburg! One thing I love about home is how close everything is! We were so busy, the trip went by way to fast and I of course didn't get near enough time with my little nieces! They are so grown up now, almost like little girls instead of little babies :( I took my camera and got a ton of pictures so I hope you all enjoy!!

So Confusing!

The weather out here is SO confusing. This past week we've had weather in the 60's all week. It's been amazing! A much needed change from the 19 below weather we had been getting a couple weeks ago (yeah, that's right...19 below). Anyway, Friday was a little chilly but nothing to crazy. We met up with some friends that night, and I only had my lab coat on over my clothes (from work) and Ty didn't have a jacket at all. We were both pretty cold, but again, nothing crazy.. with a jacket we would have been fine. I say all this to give you an idea of how surprised we were to wake up Saturday morning to the worse snow storm we've seen so far since we've been here! We couldn't even see out of our window it was snowing so hard! We found out that they don't plow our neighborhood so we weren't able to get out in our little focus and the run errands that we needed to, but we were still able to have some fun. These days really make us ready for some little ones to play with!!

Valentines Day

I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentines Day and were able to show the ones you love (whether it be a husband, wife, father, mother.. or just a great friend) how much you love them!

Valentines Day for us was pretty low key. We mostly celebrated on Friday so we could avoid the crowds on Saturday. We did go out to Breakfast at Ty's favorite spot, The Crackel Barrel, and that's when he surprised me with THIS!....

A NEW CAMERA!! I felt a little sheepish, because I had only gotten him a cowboy's hat.. but the camera was much needed. He said he was tired of me not posting because I didn't have pictures. So now I have no excuse :)

I'm still trying to master the different features but these are some pics I took this morning of some of the flowers he bought for me..

It's been really fun to play with, I just hope that I can remember to bring it places!

Birthday Fun

The first week in February brought lots of birthday fun! I had the chance of celebrating the birth of three of my favorite people all within a couple of days of each other! I have to first give a birthday shout out to my wonderful, beautiful mother. She has always been such an inspiration and example to me! Thank you mom for your love an support through all the years! I love you!

The next B-day shout out goes to my oldest besty Tiffany! Thanks for always being there for me through out the years Tiffy!

And last but not least, my wonderful husband Ty. We've been married for almost 2 years and I couldn't ask for a better man to be married to. Through all the ups and downs, I feel so lucky to have you by side. I love you, for all the little things you do to make my life just that much better. I love you sweethart.. for time and all eternity.

The Munchkins

Here are the latest pics of my adorable nieces.. I miss them SOOO much!! Dominique is the one with the giant purple bow on her head and Gizelle is the one with the even bigger pink bow. Only the cutest babies ever could get away with those bows!!

My mom said their eyes have finally made the switch from blueish green to straight up green! They are now the exact color of their dad, so hopefully they will stay that way!

The Biggest Loser

I'm not sure how many of you watch The Biggest Loser but Ty and I are pretty big fans, so you could imagine our surprise when we saw Tyrone's friend Felipe on the show!! We are so excited for him!! He and Ty served their mission together and we haven't been able to see him since he came out to our wedding. Tyrone talked to his mom and sister last week and they gave us the scoop up until last week... I won't give anything away, but I will tell you that he has been teaching the gospel to a girl on the show and she has committed to baptism! Pretty freakin cool huh? That is just a little taste of the awesomeness of this guy. Felipe, we wish you the best and can't wait to see you!!

Holiday's...

I would like to start off by apologizing for not updating in so long!! We have been so busy in our new little lives here, but being honest with myself, there were many times when I could have blogged and didn't. So for all of you who have been anxiously waiting for an update for the last 4 months here's a quick recap of what we've been up to!

September:

Ty started his schooling and was studying day in and day out. We rode to school/work together most days but every now and then he would have to go in earlier or visa versa. We live about 35mins away from the College when there's no traffic, so it's quite the commute. Most of the time we leave when it's still dark and come home when it's dark. The most exciting thing for the month was that I got to go home and see my beautiful baby nieces and Ty and I were asked to be Giselle's god parents.... which we of course excepted!!
Now I know everybody thinks that their babies are the cutest... but these little girls really truly are! They have these amazing blue/green eyes and olive skin and dark hair. They are very very talkative.. obviously I have no idea what they're saying, but they have a lot to say... and laugh a lot. I have short little videos of them on my phone so as soon as I learn how to get it off my phone and on my computer I'll post it on here!

October:

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!
It was starting to get a little chill in the air here in Missouri and the weather became just right for football games, miniature golf and camp outs! My mom and little sister came out to visit and my blessed mom braided my hair for me so I wouldn't have to worry about it in the mornings! We didn't get to dress up for Halloween but we were super excited for trick-or-treaters! That night we didn't want to go out and miss them so instead we invited our friends over and ordered pizza an pasta and played guitar hero as we anxiously waited our trick or treaters. no one ever showed up.. but we had a really fun night anyway. Here are some pics from our adventures...

Okay okay.. so we didn't actually camp OUTSIDE. We didn't really know where to go, so we decided to make our tent indoors, rent some movies, order Chinese food and roast smore's over the stove instead!
November:

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope all of those who we did not get to talk to had a wonderful Thanksgiving and remembered to count all of their many blessings.
We had a very fast month of November. Before we knew it it had come and gone. Tyrone and I were able to go back to PA and spend Thanksgiving with my family. This was the first time Ty was able to see the twins and he fell in love just as I had. Most of the time one of us had a baby in our arms.

The next weekend the Chiefs and the Saints were playing at the Chiefs stadium and since my sister knows one of the coaches for the Saints she got us sideline passes for the game. I was just getting over bronchitis so Tyrone took his friend with him. They didn't stay for the whole game but they did get some great pics of the players on the while they were on the field.
December:
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
This is by far the best time of the year! We were very glad to be out of the cold for most of the month! We spent one week here in Missouri and the rest of the time we spent in tropical weather. Our second week in December we spent on a 7day cruise to Jamaica, Grand Cayman Islands, and Cozumel. It was a Christmas present from my parents to my family!! This was BY FAR the best cruise we've been on! It was so much fun going with my family and needless to say no one wanted to leave! The next two weeks in December we spent with Ty's mom and brother in Orlando. The weather ranged between 70-82 the entire trip. We were able to go to the beach a couple times and take walks at night. We were in heaven. I was wondering if I would miss not having a white Christmas.. and then the missionaries (who were using our house while we were gone) called to tell us our pipes had frozen and burst. No water had gotten anywhere, thank goodness, because they shut it off just in time. Our landlord was able to get everything fixed before we came home but the experience really made us love the warm weather even more!!!
Christmas day we mostly spent eating the HUGE meal Ty's mom had been preparing for two days. We opened presents around noon.. which was very different from my family's usual 6am present opening, but kinda nice to be able to sleep in a little.
We were able to bring in the New Year with Ty's mom, mentor and his awesome family. We went up to one of David (Ty's mentor's) homes... one we hadn't seen yet.. and played games, had sandwiches, and took a tour of the amazing house! I wish I had pictures! It is exactly what I want my future house to look like. We left there around 11:15 so that we could make it back to Ty's mom's house before midnight. Once we got there we made virgin margarita's and danced to music until the ball dropped. It ended up being a pretty fun night!
Tyrone and I both hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and we wish you all the best for the year 2009!!!
